Guess who woke up at 7:45am today?

blink blink blink

The Husband was getting up early, as he was heading off to play paintball w/ a bunch of folks. He did not wake me up. The alarm didn't wake me up - I woke up right before The Husband rolled over to shut it off. I just became awake.

7:45 is not a time of the morning that actually exists in the Princess Moonbeam universe. Or if it does (which I'm usually a little hazy on), it's something that happens to other people.

(Off in Chicago, Shechem is giggling to herself right now. She finds my not-morning-person ways amusing.)

I'm actually not as tired as I might be. I cleverly took sleeping meds last night, because I knew if I DIDN'T, I would lie awake all night thinking "the alarm is going to go off at 7:45. why aren't i asleep? the alarm is going to go off ...". But that didn't happen. Nope, I fell asleep reasonably early (for me, which means shortly after midnight or 12:30, instead of 1:30 or 2am). Maybe this is my body's way of saying it only needs around 8 hours of sleep a night.

[insert hollow cynical laughter here]

Even when I was gainfully employed, I didn't get up that early - I didn't have to be in the office until 10am, for goodness' sake! Bah, mornings. Don't see what's so special about 'em anyways.

With that bit of whining out of the way, today should be pretty good. WeaselMom, #1 Minion, and I are going to go have brunch (mmmm, grilled cheddar polenta), and then roam around seeing what sort of trouble we can get into. Which probably means thrift store excursions - I need to find a white satin formal dress and a black one, where the skirts are made of large gores. I figured out (while lying awake early this morning) how I could cleverly use 2 skirts like that to create a single big black&white stripey skirt. Of course, I realize that now that I've figured this out, I won't be able to find the dresses I need, but it'll be fun to try.

Okay, must go get more coffee.
