Saturday was very low-key; I had worked from home on Friday, due to feeling wretched (extremely tired and like I had been beaten with a mallet -- this sort of unwellness is happening once every couple of weeks, and I don't know why), so the only things I really managed on Saturday were to go to a hair color appointment, and a quick stroll through Thriftko. That night, we finally broke into our DVDs of Wonderfalls. I had forgotten how much I love that show. A lot of people I know will wax bitterly raphsodic about Firefly: how it never should have been canceled, and how that if ever there was a show that deserved a long, multi-season run, it was Firefly. I feel like that about Wonderfalls. (Not to say that I don't feel the same way about Firefly, but if the Fairy of TV Scheduling appeared before me and said "Pick one cancelled show to resurrect and give at least seven seasons to", Wonderfalls would be my choice. A show about a snarky woman, stuck in a dead-end retail job, who starts suffering from having toy animals talk to her and telling her to help people? C'mon, I don't have to explain my devotion to that concept, do I?)

If you haven't watched the 2 DVD set of it, you really, really should. Trust me. I am going to be very sad when we finish watching all of it.

Sunday was the last-minute Wardrobe Clean-Out sale at [livejournal.com profile] alexiarnps', and thank you to everyone who turned up and bought stuff*. Should I use my profits toward getting a new iPod, or toward a(nother) custom-fitted overbust corset?

iPod: Ooooh, shiny video iPod! Even though my current iPod is doing fine, and not even full yet, so I don't really need a new one. But ... video. And it comes in black!

Corset: I've been wanting another corset for a while, and I would have this one made out of black heavy cotton so I could use it as underwear, instead of a corset to be worn over other clothing. I've said for years that a properly-fitted corset is more comfortable than any bra, and a black cotton corset would be amazingly useful.

Sunday night involved taking my parents out for dinner to celebrate their wedding anniversary and Dad's birthday. It was nice to hang out with them, and any excuse to go to Crave is a good one.

There's a host of things that I want to write long, detailed essays/rants/posts about: why most of the well-written vampire books nowadays are found in the Young Adult section; more ponderings about the Goth subculture and how it has changed (for good and bad); silly, over-the-top ideas I have for outfits that I'd like feedback on; those sorts of things. Maybe I'll find time for at least one of them in the near future.

* I still have three or four things left from the Great Wardrobe Clean-Out that I'm looking to sell. Would anyone be interested in me posting descriptions of them?

Well, I don't have budget, so don't hurry on my account, but I'm dying to know.

aaAAaa. I thought I might have, but you know how my mind, or at least my lower brain, works: 'Clothes from [livejournal.com profile] prncsmoonbeam! Pounce!'

Thank you for being kind and sweet to Miss Kaylee. She obviously *loved* being held by you. You're like a fairy godmother for ferrets, I think!

iPod.

No new corset while you're still losing weight, because you'll just have to replace it in a few months anyhow.

Thirding this as I'm doing the weight loss/exercise thing myself and REFUSE to buy anything new until then

I recently watched Wonderfalls, because you recommended it so highly. It was lovely, thank you.

And now that I've watched both Serentiy and Firefly I shall keep my eye out for it too...sounds very interesting, and there's certainly lack of intersting stuff on telly most nights

I would be interested in you posting those things as the house goblins would not let me leave my home this weekend.

I never managed to catch "Wonderfalls" while it was on TV. I was looking for something to do (and more importantly a place to sit for a while) at San Diego Comic Con a few years ago and happened into the room where the creators of WF were talking and then they showed 2 episodes. I was quite intrigued. I've been meaning to track down the complete set. Thank you for reminding me.

I am allowing myself one Wonderfalls episode a week, so as to draw out my enjoyment of new episodes as long as possible. If I must get a hit, I watch the commentary for episodes I've already seen.

It was tragic that it was cancelled; I honestly think it was better than Firefly.
