If, by chance, any of you run across a dress like this one (yes, clicky-link) for a reasonable price*, could you please grab it for me? (My measurements are 43" bust, 33.5" waist.)

I was outbid on that particular one, and oooooh! am I vexed about that. I once *had* such a dress, and wore it to tatters. That is The Perfect Dress, as far as I'm concerned. It can be worn with knee-length petticoats, it can be worn with over a lace high-collared blouse, it can be worn over ankle-length skirts. I need about four of them, in different black fabrics.

* A reasonable price being under $50, preferably. Oh, and I don't really require the chiffon bow at the back.

I almost whish I'd seen that when the auction was running, but it went too high for me too. You know, if/when I move back into Seattle I'd love to go shopping with you!

That is Adorable! I'll keep my eyes out at the resale shops. (And if I see one in my size, I'll grab it for myself unless it's dry-clean-only.)

Preeety! I want one too. I think. Square neck, hmm.

With different jewelry, it's also the One True Dress for me. I had it sleeveless in black and wore it until it fell from my body.

I strongly believe it is the One True Dress for everyone. That shape flatters every figure ever.

As a matter of fact, the Best Seamstress In The World just got back to me with a confirmation.

I clicked on that and said to [livejournal.com profile] saffyre_dragon "Jilli has great taste... well, I guess that's redundant, but look at this dress!"

Ooooh. Much droolage.

I'll keep my eyes out for you.

I see now why you want to do princess seams.

Would look dreadful on me, btw...so sadly not my One True Dress, but I do agree there is OTD for everyone. I need things that are smoother over the hips (coz there's a 12" inch differential between my waist and my arse) and that fishtail from the kneee. I have cut a pattern for this dress and have yet to try it on anyone that didn't look good in it.
