Progress on the job hunt, and blithering about silly gothy jewelry

*Finally* heard back from the woman I called earlier in the week. I am meeting her for coffee next Wednesday to talk about what her team does, what they're looking for in an editor, and so on. She said she liked my resume, and that they're looking for someone who can start right away: "As soon as we can get them through an interview loop and have the paperwork filled out, basically!" If Wednesday goes well, I will probably have an interview loop Real Soon Now. Of course, I am going to send an e-mail to my previous boss to let her know that I'm going to be on campus next week, and hey! Is her team still hiring?

Note to Self: Yes, she was one of the best managers you've ever worked for, but is that enough to counterbalance the 'open space' work environment? No walls, no offices, and never-ending noise? Think about it.

Anyway, if folks could think "Interview her!" thoughts for me on Wed., that would be very helpful. (Once I get an interview and then job offer, we will work on sending the message to The Universe that no, REALLY, staxxy and I are supposed to be gainfully employed at the same time. The world won't end if we are.

Silly, over-the-top, gothy-goth jewelry: I have a weakness for stuff from Alchemy Gothic. Yes, some of it is even too cheese-o-riffic for me, but I can't help grinning when I look through their catalogue. I just wish they made perfume vial pendants.

Don't give me that look. You know they'd be gorgeous. Yes, they would probably be festooned with silver bats. Or skulls. Or ankhs. But I want an oh-so-spo0o0o0o0o0kie and Victorian perfume vial pendant, and I haven't been able to find one. I wonder if Alchemy Gothic takes requests ...

Oooh, that's right! I had forgotten that BPTP was going to do scent lockets! I would still prefer a vial pendant, but I'll have to keep an eye out for the lockets.

Women's Conference this week. No wonder you didn't hear back quickly--quite a few people were there.

I've seen plain perfume vials around at various New Age shops...don't know what you're looking for, though.
