The new work environment has not improved. In fact, it’s worse today, because there is construction/desk assembly work going on about 15 feet away from my desk. Lots of clanking and clattering, some random power tool noises, and the lights randomly being turned on and off. The glaringly bright fluorescent lights.

I am extremely tired. I have a headache. I am suffering from cramps. I want, in no particular order, tasty alcohol, a selection of nibbly food (both the savory and the chocolate varieties), and a large mallet to use while playing live-action Whack-a-Mole on my cow-orkers. My first impulse, when someone tries to talk to me right now, is to hiss at them. I have barely managed to not act on that impulse.

Yes, I am cranky. How clever of you to have noticed. Grrrr! Grrrrrrrrr!

Good Things About Today:

• stroppy_baggage brought me a Jamba Juice after dropping me off at work.



• I am wearing a very pretty rosary-style necklace (yes, with an ankh pendant instead of a cross) that I beaded last night, while watching an amazingly silly and cheese-tastic vampire movie. (laragoth, you were right. Wow, Vampire Journal is … something. Words kinda fail me, but it made me giggle.)



• I am listening to the brand new CD by my favorite guilty pleasure band. The shiny shiny iPod will save me from the construction noise, right?



• I will finish reading Anansi Boys on the bus ride home. It is very, very good.

Oh my word. When I was still at work, this was my total If-I-Win-the-Lottery Dream. If you take out "cow-orkers" and substitute in random-people-who-irk, it's still the same dream.
