• [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage and I went to the Dead Can Dance show last night. It was AMAZING, and I feel incredibly lucky that I finally got to see them. I cannot wait for my cds of both Seattle shows to arrive.

  • Because we had a coupon for a free 'On Demand' movie from the cable company, we finally got around to watching Constantine this weekend. Y'know, if the main character hadn't been named John Constantine (thus getting rid of any tie to the comic series), it would have been a decent supernatural thriller. Tilda Swinton as Gabriel was oodles of fun.

  • After trying on a gazillion different jackets at different stores, I have to admit that the current crop of 'Victorian inspired' ones are not as good as I had hoped for. Or that I have somewhat different expectations on how those jackets should look & fit. (Okay, okay, I am *starting* to have different expectations, and they are entirely based off of [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage's standards.) I am also starting to come to the realization that no matter how much I like the idea of little fitted jackets that are just above hip-length, ones that are below hip-length (and in a frock coat style) are much more flattering.

  • Er ... I may have some more clothing to sell. I don't know yet. I have to pull stuff from the Armoire of Velvet, try it on, and make [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage give me his opinion. As always, [livejournal.com profile] alexiarnps gets first dibs on it (since we kinda-sorta have a communal closet), but I will post if I do have anything I'm selling. A word of warning: anything I might be selling this round will not be at yard sale prices, because the Armoire of Velvet is where the high-end, really-good-quality stuff hides. But, if it doesn't flatter me, I've got to learn to not hang on to it.

  • What else, what else ...? I'm sure there was something else I wanted to burble about ...

Strangely, I just watched Constantine recently, myself and mirror your feelings exactly. LOVED Tilda Swindon! Gorgeous! Had to watch that movie for work and she is so getting into the game. Soooo in there.

Forewarned is forearmed. Depending on the timing, I might have more urgent needs anyway.

Got feathers. Mm, D&C has many colors. So will doubling ordinary cotton-poly thread do the trick or do I need different thread?

Tilda Swinton is aging so lovely. It's so hard to think she's 45.

The jacket: Have you taken a look at the Victorian Trader lately? They have the most beautiful riding jacket, coat dress and victorian mourning outfit. very yummy!!

We sat RIGHT BEHIND Alexia

Saturday night. I mean, literally - I stuck my head between Herself and the Foppiest Fop to blather at them briefly.

And Erica and Marshal sat right next to Alfredo. :)

I'm glad you got to go.

Cool, I had heard somewhere that Dead Can Dance broke up. I figured it was true since Lisa has become "Ms. Movie Soundtrack" lately.

One of the reasons that Ali McGraw's Yoga Mind and Body (http://www.videofitness.com/reviews/yogaali.php) is my favorite yoga DVD is that the soundtrack is by Dead Can Dance. (It is also stupifyingly gorgeous)

I still have the purdy purple skirt that I got from you when I was still living in Seattle. The shoes, I believe, I ended up giving to a friend with just -slightly- smaller tootisies, as the one time I wore them they made my feets very unhappy....but I still have the skirt.

Might wear it to the club next week :D
