Left brain hates right brain.

If you have EVER suffered from insomnia, it will make you laugh and laugh and laugh. And nod your head a lot.

Not so much with the insomnia, but very much with the waking up to the sounds of a hacking cat.

I'm pretty sure I've had almost that exact conversation with myself.

*keels over in hysterics*

I completely lost it at "What if Eric doesn't wake up?" (And I read that section aloud to Kevin, with appropriate voice and inflection, and freaked the dog out.)

This is especially pertinent given last night's experiences.

That is one of the parts that completely slays me, but by that point, I'm usually trying to recover from the bout of cackling inspired by " will cut you out of my head, I swear to God.".

Good to see you finally found that post again. Quiet in the office?

Well, kinda. None of the FTEs are here, but I'm still fighting with the accursed Visio files. Haaaaaaaate Visio. Haaaaaaaaate.

I laughed until my side hurt! Stepped over 2 thrown up hair balls this morning. Sadly for my spouse, most of the time just before falling asleep, the right and left brain conversation tends to occur out loud.

That's hilarious, and oh so accurate.

Yes. Most of it. The other day I stepped in a big fresh kitty puke in the middle of the night...on the way to the toilet.

It really got me at the itching part. I take oily baths and slather on lotion at odd hours thanks to that, and the itch probably isn't on my skin, it's in my nerves somewhere.

He he. Thanks.

Funny! Oh yeah, cat hacking, Blech! Also, that's what my mind sounds like when I'm meditating, back in the day.

I got good instructions about using meditation techniques to get to sleep that helped me to the point where I rarely take Ambien any more. I guess I'm going to pass it along on the off chance that it'll be useful to you, too (sorry!). For one, you need a mantra. When your mind is chattering like the link, chant the mantra as fast or as slow as your mind is racing or meandering so you match its speed exactly. If it's racing, omnamahshivayahonnamahshivaya super fast. If slow, then say it slow. One that works less well for me but adequately is: picture a solid black circle. Then, keep it there exactly. Also works pretty well.
