My pseudo step-sister called me this afternoon to let me know that Dad had passed out on the toilet, hemorrhaging, and fell to the floor. (? She was telling me this while driving, so things were garbled.) 911 was called, and he has been taken to the ER via ambulance.
That's all the info I currently have. I'm waiting to hear which hospital he ends up at, and when I can visit him.
This has been going on since last year, and things still aren't fixed. I'm fucking terrified.
EDIT: I'm going to visit him tomorrow.
Things I needed to know but didn't want to:
- His hematocrit was 7. Normal range for adult males is around 40.
- He indeed passed out on the floor.
- He told the nice EMTs that he just wanted to go to sleep. They were having none of that, and apparently kept him awake during the ambulance ride.

(and with a hematocrit of 7, no wonder he just wanted to sleep!)
