Yesterday was the return to seeing Butch the personal trainer after almost 7 weeks away. (Life has been extremely chaotic, plus he was traveling for a few of those weeks.) After yesterday's session, I have 6 more private ones, and then I'm transitioning to the small group classes. Therefore we are shifting focus from building up my strength and endurance, but getting me acclimated to what the group classes do.
He said that he was pleased at how much I was able to do after the length of time I'd been away, so that's good. But dear G-D, the routine of the group classes include not only my nemesis of kettlebells, but some form of crunches that while having your hands flat on the ground to help you stay in position is encouraged, they involve having your legs off the ground; extend your legs, then pull them back with your knees bent. This is my new least favorite thing.
But I'm determined to keep doing this, because I need to. But I don't like it. At all.
