We watched it over two days, in part so I can remove the gazillion filters I had to create on all my other social media so I wasn't spoiled.

While watching the episodes, and immediately after, I enjoyed it a bunch. But now that I've given it some thought ... well, there are still points I really enjoyed, but as a whole, it didn't quite work. ESPECIALLY the ending, because after everything Aziraphale is going to go back to Heaven? Sure, I understand that he is an optimist and feels he can make things better, and he was showing his love for Crowley by thinking they could return together, with Crowley returning to being an angel, but that makes it feel like Aziraphale is more foolish and dim-witted than he actually is. Which is frustrating and out of character.

(Poor Crowley. He's the one I feel the worst for. Also, the kiss was heart wrenching.)

Mind you, the whole thing had a bad case of MCU in that it was all a setup for a sequel, something which isn't even assured because who knows if Amazon will greenlight a sequel, so all the episodes are retroactively lessened by that.

Things I did like - Muriel was adorable, the way the text messages from Nina's partner were shown, the fact that Aziraphale used LED candles for the portal, and every shout-out to Pratchett's writing. (CMOT Dibbler on the laudanum bottle! "I'm a seamstress"!

And I want Crowley's Victorian outfit and every outfit Shax wore. Every. Outfit.

You're the first person I've seen who flat out said it didn't work. And I feel exactly the same way.

The streaming services leaving us with cliff hangers and shows not renewed is frustrating. It was sad if this is how it ends. Yes, Muriel and battery candles for the win.
