- I took all of yesterday off, because Botox shots, and after the headlong stressful rush of last week, I knew I needed more decompression than just the weekend. The Stroppy One and I took advantage of this by going to a movie theatre and watching Evil Dead Rise. That was a LOT of fun. Very very gory (of course), but great storytelling and some nice nods to the previous movies.
- We went for sushi at our favorite Seattle sushi place (Moshi Moshi in Ballard), and I ended up with a ticket to next week's Skinny Puppy concert. Our favorite server/bartender there lives about six blocks from us, and was very invested in our house-hunting journey. She's also an old-school goth/industrial person, and she and I always talk concerts. It turns out her husband can't make it to the concert, so hey, she just messaged me on IG, do I want to go with?
Amusingly, I've never seen Skinny Puppy in concert. As I explained to the Stroppy One, whenever they toured I 1) didn't have the cash for a ticket, and 2) the various boys who took me to concerts in the hopes that I'd sleep with them had no interest in Skinny Puppy. (This is how I saw at least one concert by all the big name metal bands during the late 80s - early 90s. Foolish boys. I made it very clear that there would be no "repayment" of them taking me to concerts, but that didn't seem to sink into their pretty little heads.)
