- So there we were, watching an episode of The Last of Us, and I started humming along with the background music. "I know this obviously, what song is it, what is this instrumental version?", I thought. My brain caught up and I realized it was "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure. After some frantic googling ("instrumental The Cure song carousel The Last of Us") I learned that there is an album of WONDERFUL lullaby versions of songs by The Cure. Yes, I immediately bought it. In fact, lullaby versions of gothy songs may be my new favorite genre.

- I was finally able to make an appointment to go for a blood draw for labs. One giant bruise later - my veins are tiny and incredibly difficult to find - I have won the prize of being hypothyroid. I don't like this prize. I have a telehealth appointment later this month to talk this over with my doc.

- I am very idly considering finding a trusted salon in the new neighborhood and 1) getting my ends trimmed because hoo-boy do they need it, and 2) getting long layers cut into my hair. I either wear a hat, my hair pulled back with some sort of fancy bow or floral clips, or down and as large as I can get it without backcombing the bejesus out of it. Long layers would help with the embiggening, right?

- So not only are the Sisters of Mercy, Depeche Mode, Skinny Puppy, and Ministry all touring (not together, obviously), Siouxsie is playing shows in Europe and The Cure are teasing that they might tour. Eldergoths everywhere are weeping for their wallets.

I refuse to see SOM again, because Andrew's voice hasn't aged well, and I don't want to spend money to see a wall of fog and endure terrible sound to the point of not being able to recognize a song. (Yeah, I'm still mad about the last two times I saw them.) And I'm not a big enough fan of Depeche Mode, Skinny Puppy, or Ministry to fork over a lot of money and mask up for them. But Siouxsie and The Cure? Hell yes, if they come to the US and are nearby, I am slapping down the credit card and planning my outfits.
