We are at the new house! Almost everything is here!

(Some stuff had to be left at the other house to be gathered later, because there was no way to get everything packed, no matter how hard we pushed ourselves.)

Various awesome things about our new home:

  • IT HAS PROPER INSULATION OMG. The house is warm, even during this insane cold snap.
  • Walk-in shower! With a built-in bench!
  • BIG JACUZZI TUB! With a ledge around it, which means I can get easily get in and out of it.

There are lots of other wonderful things about this place, but those are the ones I keep chortling over.

In good-but-mystifying news: We gave Miss Erzabet No Biting 100mg of Gabapentin for the car ride to the new house, bundled her and Vlad into separate carriers, and headed off. We got to the new house, secured them in the Kitty Containment Room, and opened the carriers; Vlad came out, letting me know that he Does Not approve of car rides, but Erzabet stayed in hers, which wasn’t a surprise.

When I visited them a few hours later, they were snuggled up in Erzabet’s carrier. Erzabet, who glares and/or hisses at her brother. Vlad was obviously delighted, because he has never adapted to his sister disliking him. Every time we go visit, they are snuggled in the carrier. Did the Gabapentin rewire Erzabet’s brain? Did they rebond over trauma? Will this continue after we let them into the rest of the house? I certainly hope so.
