 OH MY G-D I CANNOT WAIT TO BE IN A HOUSE THAT HAS INSULATION AND DOUBLE-PANED WINDOWS. It is currently snowing lightly in Seattle, and I am bundled up in 4 layers of clothes, a wool shawl, and fingerless gloves. While I am a fan of Victorian fashion aesthetics, that doesn't include dressing like an urchin. 

The tentative actually probably going to happen move-in date is Dec. 17. Cross your fingers, send prayers, light candles that it happens. 

Remember, folks: don't make a classic 1st time home buyer mistake and use the inspector the seller's agent suggests.

Deep sympathy. We don't have the snow (Thanks Gott) but the boiler won't be repaired until Monday.

There are so many things that are not covered by the inspection and what is and isn't visible that gives even the good inspection companies an out. In every house we bought the sellers didn't disclose a few things as well. I was honest about the roof leaking and being repaired and it cost me $800 for a 1 year home warranty for the buyers. We moved from a newer build with excellent insulation to a 120 year old cold spooky house and I am so happy. Layers for sure!

Did you keep your power though? We spent 24 hours without and THAT was cold. Though we do have (mostly) double paned windows and a fireplace, so a small section of one room was warm enough that I was good ina coat, and didn't have the wear gloves!
