A lesson learned this weekend

 Sitting on a chair and bending to sort through the enormous pile of black skirts & dresses to find something was a BAD IDEA. 

My back isn't quite as bad as it was during the initial OH G-D NO fun of 2019, but it's close. I took aaaaallllll the pain meds & muscle relaxers last night, and will be doing so again today after I get back from my chiropractor appointment (and make it through 2 meetings).

We went out to dinner with Dad and his ladylove last night! His 76th birthday was earlier in the week, thus celebrations were in order. He and his ladylove are doing well. It was really really good to see him.

I made the phone call I had been slightly dreading, and it went fine. The event organizer completely understood why I wasn't able to be there and emcee, because she is a wonderful person and a sympathetic friend. And yes, I knew talking to her about this would be fine, but the Brain Raccoons yammering that I'm Letting Someone Down are loud.

this might be the most annoying comment ever re: back pain, but have you tried CBD cream? I deal with back pain a lot and it's been a livesaver for me!

A thing I try to remember when I'm facing what I consider critique or rejection or disappointment is that I need to give the people I love some autonomy in their decisions about me... I don't get to choose beforehand how they are going to react to me, or even how they SHOULD react to me. I can only be the best me I can be for the situation at-hand. <3
