(When in doubt, return to ancient meme speak.)

I got my lab work back. Everything looks normal. Everything looks great, actually, according to the notes from my doctor. Except that the specific test for COVID antibodies shows really high numbers. "If you got your booster recently, it's working hard!" says Dr. Bobbi. "If you haven't gotten your booster yet, then you probably did have COVID in Dec., and the test you had returned a false negative."

Soooooo it's pretty certain I was an asymptomatic COVID case, which certainly would explain the extreme fatigue and air hunger sensation. Which is not really going away, just having ups and downs. To say I'm displeased about this is putting it mildly.

Time to do research about long COVID and management strategies, I guess.

I'm not real surprised given your symptoms. And even normal-duration COVID can take weeks or months to clear up entirely.

Fuck.

Besides hating that the virus got you, I hate that the tests, when we can even get them, are not reliable. And that vaccinated people can get it and that it can be carried without symptoms and that it may bring a whole slew of long-term symptoms we are just beginning to experience. Just... fuck, I fucking hate it. And I'm so glad that--from here, anyway, it seems to be--you have a good medical team and a care-supportive workplace. <3

Since Omicron settles in the throat first I guess you can now get a throat swab. Someone went through this with their vaccinated teen. Nasal swab test showed as negative throat swab was positive. I hope you get through this with no long term side effects.
