In other news: I'm tired, weather swings are increasing my pain levels, but the magic migraine tiara thing is still magic. Oh, and I had my Botox shots on Friday, so that also helped. 

I have no idea what I'm going to do for my birthday. I wanted to maybe book tickets for an entrance time to go to the zoo, but WA is going into lockdown again. GOING INTO LOCKDOWN IS GOOD AND VITAL AND I SUPPORT IT. But I also wanted to go to the zoo.

I wrote an extremely difficult GCS post yesterday and sent it off to my beta readers. I'm publishing it on Friday, and I hope it kicks off a bunch of discussion. It's around the troubling concept that people feel they "aren't pretty (thin/white/young/hot/etc.) enough" to be goth and I have a LOT of rage around that.

I share your rage about that.

It's right up there with religions and skin tones for me under the header "things that Goth does not care about".

I'm very much looking forward to that post. As someone who was made to feel Most Unwelcome in my local goth scene because of my skin tone and facial features, I share your rage and a bit of sadness that people feel as though they can't participate in something they love (or even are just starting to become interested in) because of ridiculous, rude gatekeeping by people who read too much Blue Blood.
