Should I join the duranduranmusic.com club ($35 for a 1 year membership) so I can take advantage of the members-only advanced ticket purchasing offer for the March 9th show in Everett?

On the one hand—iieeeeee! Duran Duran!

On the other hand--$35 to join, and I bet the tickets will be at *least* $50 each.

What's the per-ticket limit for the Everett show? 1 ticket? 2? 8?

It might be worth it if you can get more than one, and if you have another DD uberfan that'll go in with you. They may even be willing to split the cost of the membership.

Waste of money, IMHO.

Seriously, you can get tickets without it, and it's not like Duran Duran is going to sell out.

Aren't they like 65 years old now?

it's not like Duran Duran is going to sell out.

It depends on your definition of the term. ;-) *ducks & runs away*

Hmmph. Just imagine me stomping my feet at you.

I probably won't join the club, because while I do want to see Duran Duran, I am not a frothing enough fan-girl to justify the cost.

it's not like Duran Duran is going to sell out.

Wouldn't necessarily bet on that. They've sold out a number of shows in the past couple of years, and this is the first time they've played in the PNW since the original lineup got back together. Plus, it's Everett. :P

J, unless it's critically important to you to get the very best ticket possible, it's probably not worth the membership; you probably will be able to get tickets when they go on general sale, though I wouldn't necessarily wait until the day before the show to try for one.

That's pretty much what I thought.

(And now I'm going to sit here and go 'aaaaawwww' at your icon for a bit.)

Yes, she's cute, isn't she?

Ah, the days of having more enthusiasm than skill or common sense...

Curiousity: are there any other perks to the membership besides the advance ticket buy?

I'd weigh on that a little bit. Back in the days when I did fanclubs, they used to send neat nifty packages of stuff when you joined. Of course, I haven't joined anything but the LOTR Fan Club in ages.

...and I'm in the credits for Fellowship and Two Towers. Squee!

I will refrain from the whole thing of singing "It's A Small World" as a courtesy to you :)

I'm a member, and having looked at some of the pre-sales for other shows, the tickets generally range from $46 + $12 charge for "third tier" to $86 + $12 charge for first and second tiers.

They also offer a "VIP" ticket for $320 which guarantees you a seat on the first 5 rows plus "a chance" to meet the band.

Not giving an opinion, just facts.

Jilli! I thought I had replied to this post, but when I checked back I realized I hadn't.

I have a membership to the fan club, and I have one extra ticket I can buy at the presale (the others go to Beth & Lisa). The presale is tomorrow morning (Jan 12.) at 10am sharp, and I plan to get the best seats available. Well, not the VIP, but the first tier if possible. I have $500 available right now and that had best cover all tickets. ;)

Would you like me to purchase one for you? I have no idea how much they will be, but I'm guessing not cheap. I would need to be paid back right away so as not to bounce my account all over creation. Let me know if you're interested. :)

A friend of mine joined and said it was worth the money. But she's a raging fan girl, soooo....
