I'm pondering cutting my hair. It's currently hip-length at the longest point, and while I am really invested in growing my hair as long as I possibly can, I probably should cut 6" or so off.
You see, I have lots of hair, but it's super-fine. And barely wavy, so the ends tangle easily. And those bottom 6" are part of my hair that went through decades of black dye, so they're a bit damaged. So cutting that off is probably the smart thing to do. But long hair!
Apparently it's also that time where I idly wonder what I'd look like with a shoulder-length bob (I ponder this about every 10 years or so), but that's not going to happen. I'm not sure it would work with my face shape. Also, the Stroppy One would be distraught. It's my hair and he knows I can do what I want with it, but he would be full of woe.
(Now that my migraines are vanquished, I can dye my hair again! Bending over the sink to rinse won't be agony! Finally, because I have almost 2" of roots showing!)

Do you ever find your hair contributing to migraines? Mine is similar to yours (texture/amount), and when long, adds weight/pressure to the scalp. That's one reason I did the haircut I have now ~ it helped lighten the weight whilst giving me length to play with.

I love long hair to bits, but have spiderweb-fine hair that is fragile/breaks too easily - and needs a periodic trim to stay halfway presentable.
Also am prone to migraines & even if it is virtually nothing, if I leave it unpinned up for a few days, I can feel the minor stress there. My cobwebs are only mid-back length, too. So I think the trim is a good idea - and I recommend a week or 2 with wearing your hair worn pinned up to see if you feel any difference.

I also have a lot of fine hair which cannot make up it's mind if it wants to be curly or not.
part of me has these day dreams where my hair is in an elaborate up-do, but part of me knows that my patience is lacking in this regard.
