50! Wheee!
Also, I was given what is possibly the best birthday present ever: The Stroppy One and friends have arranged for a private tour of the zoo sometime during 2019. AND I WILL GET TO MEET A RED PANDA.
:: flails, falls over ::
Red panda!
So yeah, 50 has been pretty awesome so far. <3

Years ago, my sister and I were at the San Diego Zoo, her favorite place, and hanging out by the black leopards, because she loved them best, and we were hoping one of them might show themselves. There was a keeper standing nearby, talking to a group of people looking at some other big cats, telling them about a really scary bear thing that had just happened farther away, and he saw my sister and I sort of listening on the fringe and asked us if we had any questions, so my sister asked him if her favorite cat was there and he told us that it had passed away. Since my sister was a donor to the zoo, they started talking about stuf, and then he went, "Hey, would you like to meet Orson, the male?" My sister about peed herself, and they went through the gate and started up the big hill, and she thought I was an idiot for hanging back but I'd thought, well, I"m just a visitor from Seattle, but he meant me too (although hilariously a bunch of other people tried to follow and he had to turn them back), and we went up to the enclosure, where he was just pacing around. It was the most amazing time I've ever had--the keeper showed us how to wave our hands nearby so he could get our scent, and try to calm down, and that was the first time I found out that black leopards have spots. His eyes were green, not like anything I'd ever seen, and he wasn't especially happy with these newbies looking at him, but it was a dream come true, and I'll always remember that, till I shuffle off this mortal coil. I even went to FAO Schwartz when we still had them downtown, and got her an amazing stuffed black leopard to thank her for such an incredible experience, which I took back after she passed away and so he still keeps me company. I hope for you the same kind of wonder and memorable experience.
