Why, in the Year of [name of preferred deity or spirit here], does every text authoring document still use "smart" quotes? Why doesn't saving the file as plaintext fix that? Why is the setting to turn off "smart" quotes hidden in different obscure places?

SOME OF US STILL HAND CRAFT OUR HTML AS NATURE INTENDED, DAMMIT. Kids today and their markdown WYSIWYG editor buttons, grumble grumble grumble.

Signed, guess who just had to manually fix the quotes in every [a href] and [img src] tag for Monday's Stereotype Technology post?
