On the one hand, I like the visuals of fireworks. Pretty lights! FIIIIIIIRE.
On the other hand, loud explosions? No longer my idea of a good time. (As I'm typing this, at 10:31pm July 5th, there are fireworks exploding in my neighborhood. Gnnng.)
Anyway, possibly the highlight of my July 4th: helping introduce small children to sparklers.

---
Today I was very floppy, for no real reason. Other than a sinus migraine, but I usually cope with them better. But I did start a sewing project I'd been thinking about, and had the (maybe brilliant?) idea to document it.

And the inspiration that struck while I was doing this:

If you want to follow the saga, which will honestly include the points where I inevitably have to rip out stitches and redo something, it's all going to be tagged on Tumblr with "clothing alteration project diary".

With you there, on the explosions!
Friend of mine invited us to see fireworks one year several years back.
Front and center.
Front row.
No joke - I think the fence separating us from the folks DOING the fireworks was MAYBE 5 feet away!
I had suuuuuuch a ringing in my ears when it was over, and a headache from the brightness, too.
We haven't gone TO a fireworks event SINCE.
