Sakuracon, day two!

(Not shown, the black and pink floral goth skirt worn under the long velvet jacket. The jacket has huge pointed sleeves (the points go to my knees!), a high-low hem, and ribbon laces in the back.)

Today's highlights:

- The fashion show. Again, it's frustrating that Moi-meme-Moitie designs aren't available in a range of sizes, but they're exquisite.

- Mana is inhumanly beautiful, has flawlessly-blended makeup, and icy cold hands. The theory that he's a vampire is looking more and more likely.

- At the Q&A panel, Mana answered that the bands who had the most influence over his music are Motley Crue and Slayer. Yes, I threw the horns. Surreptitiously, so as not to distract the rest of the audience.

- The best cosplay I saw during the whole con was someone (a young lady, I think), perfectly done up as Gerard Way's character, Party Poison, from the Fabulous Killjoys era videos. She had the Dead Pegasus jacket and everything!

I am tiiiiired.

sounds like an excellent use of your energies though! Did you get a lot of pictures of the fashion show? What about the con? You know I love to see pictures!

Mana's public persona is reliant on cultivating an air of mystery. Potentially unflattering photos taken by amateurs would humanize him. He has dedicated his professional life to convincing people that he is ageless, terrifying, and etherial. He hasn't spoken an audible word in public for decades, and has mastered a withering look of disdain which, quite frankly, left me weak in the knees. I personally don't want to know too much about the "real" Mana. I need to believe that he lives in cathedral, wakes up with perfect hair and make-up, and that his preternatural beauty will never fade. I'm not ready to let go of that illusion and I'm glad that he isn't either.

oh no, I totally get it. Which is why my sadness is not real sadness but more a wistful "alas I can not be there even virtually". :)

Off topic, I did not know you were here. I have done the "adding you to my friends list" or whatever granting access is called here to you for me. <3
