In a previous post I mentioned that I won a very vintage frock coat made by Kambriel, back from her old business name days (Atrocities). Firstly, I don't think I mentioned that I won it with a RIDICULOUSLY low bid. My winning bid was only a fraction more than the shipping cost from Chicago.
Secondly, it's a men's coat. I knew that. I messaged the seller to ask about measurements, and he didn't know how to take them, but let me know he fits a men's large suit, with a chest of about 44". Okay, my bust is 43", and I figured if the shoulders were too big, I could take the coat to a tailor and talk about having them taken up. Or maybe it would fit the Stroppy One!
The coat arrived yesterday. I do not know how a dude who wears a men's large ever wore that, because it fits my freakishly tiny shoulders. It fits everywhere. Like it was made for me. I am beyond gleeful about this.

I am proud to still own a few pieces bearing the Atrocities label, particularly a long lace vest and a velvet jacket with chiffon cuffs. It hasn't occurred to me to search eBay but I bet these are still pretty rare and hard to come across!!

I still have the original long lace vest from the 1994 catalogue shoot. Good ole "Nosferatu's Sanguinary Rosebud"... (Too dramatic for a vest? NEVER!)

I miss silly, romantic goth. I was so enthralled by it all! Getting older has made me a little lazy!

Seriously, we can revive it. Velvet jackets, flowy skirts, and lace are *comfy*.

I'm so pleased it worked its way to you, and am pretty sure however many (emphasis on many!) years ago it was made, that it was somehow *indeed* always made for you <3

Aaaand I just won a black Gothic Nightdress from a different seller! I think these people are crazy for selling off your work, but I will gleefully snap it all up. :D
