The problem: I need to hold a yard sale, but I can't use my yard for the very reason any yard sale I ran would be a success. I'm kinda-sorta famous, and I don't need all the gothlings on Teh Internets to know where I live.

I could look into renting space at the local community center, but their time frames for room rental ... do not match with my body clock, let's put it that way. Set-up at 9am? AHAHAHAHAHAHA NO. Plus, I suck at organizing group events.

Yes, I could take photos and hold an online sale, but honestly? I don't really have the time to do that, either. Culling, pricing, and tossing everything in To Be Sold containers is about my speed right now.

What I need is for there to be another Time Traveler's Rummage Sale, but those are no longer happening. What I really need is for someone with more organizational skills (and free time) than I to create an event just like the Time Traveler's Rummage Sale, and then I pay for a space and show up with my clothes racks and containers.

Alternately you could let someone else sell off stuff for you online for a percentage cut. I sold BPAL for Kambriel when she was swamped with her business. Someone local could probably use the cash to help you get it sold.

Yeah, [livejournal.com profile] psychopompous_9 arranged for us to use some empty storefront space that her Dad managed, to set up for the Great Gothic Garage sale -- we wound up with about 5 ppl selling, and made a decent amount of money!

How urgently do you need this? What I mean is that dad certainly has/will have items he needs to sell, as do I, and perhaps a yard sale/ garage sale could be arranged a couple of months from now. We need to find time to get the rest of things from Dad's. Hell, perhaps a sale at dad's in the shorter term could happen, with a larger group sale down the road?

For the online sale - do you have TaskRabbit up there? Or a friend who needs a short-term gig? If I wasn't in another state entirely, I'd offer to do it for you.

I also need to sell stuff.
And we have room in our yard - but with the studio construction,
I think that we may not have the time.

Hmmmm let me think about this.

Or you need somebody to lend you a yard. I don't have one, and even when I did, it was on the wrong side of the lake. My ex will have a small one next week in the south end.

I'm pondering, perhaps not sanely, obtaining consent from (at least some of?) my neighbors to use the little grassy space at my Lake Place. It might just barely be big enough, and it's not that far away from you. Most of us aren't very social, so I'd be surprised if they cared. I would be willing to Just Do It, given the likelihood that it would be over before many of them could even notice.
