I have learned that Diamine makes a set of inks called Shimmertastic!.

Why yes, I have ordered a sample of Night Sky. IT'S BLACK INK WITH SILVER SHIMMER OF COURSE I ORDERED IT. Along with samples of the scented Blackberry and elderberry inks by De Atramentis.

At least I've realized that signing up for the Goulet Pens monthly ink sample package would be a waste of time and money? Because I really only want burgundy/red/pink inks, and maybe some gray? See, I can totally be practical!

Mickey likes black/blue/purple inks and I am sure she could make a home for them

I would suggest you purchase an inexpensive pen to use with scented inks. From experience with scented inks, I learned the scent will permeate the plastic parts of a pen and you can't get it out, so it will be scented forever. If you fill a pen for a purpose, for example, to write this letter with fucshia ink, then return the unused ink to the bottle and refill the pen with burgundy or black ink, the ink in the bottle will also carry the scent. Some scent chemicals can cause inks, both the ones they're added to, and others they mix with, to separate and become unusable.

Metallic particles can clog and fuse inside the workings of a pen and make it unusuable, so I'd choose an inexpensive pen to dedicate to sparky inks, too.

I am the practicality raining on your "Yay! sparkly, scented inks!" parade. I'd just not want you to ruin a treasured pen you use a lot.

You have not rained on my parade. :) I'll probably put the sparkly ink in a clear demonstrator pen, because then I could see it ALL THE TIME!

Would these inks work well with a glass pen? No ink chamber, you just re-dip as needed, and rinse when finished, or if you want to change ink colour.

-d, wondering where this shimmery ink has been hiding?

I bet I know what they're using for the shimmery ink, and it's readily available, inexpensive, and available in many many colors. PearlEx is probably the easiest to find brand name. I also buy the culinary version for those uses, called Luster Dust. Gorgeous stuff. Try a little gold dust in some red wine some time...

They're colored mineral powders, basically.

!!!

I didn't even think about the possibilities of mixing my own shimmer inks! I've got pens that I'm willing to sacrifice to testing this ...

Make sure to post pictures! My one word of advice, from playing with food coloring and luster dust, is to try complementary PearlEx colors to the ink color. Silver for black ink, gold for red, green shimmer in purple. Like the shimmer is in some eye shadows.
