Firstly, a huge huge HUGE thank you to [livejournal.com profile] minim_calibre and her charming husband, for coming over and gardening with [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage on Saturday. Gardening is not my thing, in addition to my having a black thumb. However, minim transformed the completely overgrown front planter box thingy into something tidy with pretty flowers. I'm amazed and grateful. I'm also in their debt, because after spending all day playing in my yard, they came out to Gothique AND gave me a lift home.

Gothique was fun. [livejournal.com profile] alexiarnps and I modeled for [livejournal.com profile] bluejay23; her in an Edwardian-style ruffley black lace tea gown, me in a knee-length b&w stripy skirt & petticoats worn with a stretchy princess-seam jacket w/ a high collar and batwing hem. In other words, yes, we modeled our everyday clothes that Jay has made for us, and looked fabulous.

I owe [livejournal.com profile] djeternaldarkne a huge favor for not only playing "Gingerbread Coffin" by Rasputina for mine & Alexia's trip down the runway, but for being willing to play it over and over as we did our multiple walk-throughs, figuring out where to twirl and how to avoid tangling our parasols *as* we twirled. I also must bribe [livejournal.com profile] imflying so she will teach me how to apply my eye makeup just like she did, because it was very nifty.

The other designers had some verrrry interesting stuff: not a lot that I would personally wear, but fun to look at. One of the designers specialized in fetishwear made from molded leather and hammered metal; all of his models looked like they came straight off of Red Sonja book covers. (After the show, a couple of these fierce-looking warrior girls scampered up to me and exclaimed "Oh my god, you are so HOT! Your outfit is great! You should come to Vancouver and go to fetish night! You're so hot!", which completely was completely mystifying because I am not used to ever having those words applied to *me*. Cute, charming, elegant ... sure. Hot? Nope, completely baffled by that.)

Sunday was spent running some low-key errands, and then watching the movie May with [livejournal.com profile] imflying. I'd heard good things about that movie, and was not disappointed. [livejournal.com profile] bluejay23 would probably enjoy it immensely.

Today was the first day in the new regime of getting up earlier and exercising in the mornings. It seemed to go okay. Who knows how sleep-deprived I'll end up from this clever plan? Hopefully, exercising in the mornings will help me fall asleep at night. Hopefully.
