Answering the door to trick-or-treaters

The best costume I've seen so far has been a little girl in a homemade Zero (the ghost dog from Nightmare Before Christmas) costume, complete with a tiny light-up Jack-o-lantern on the nose. With her dad standing behind her in a homemade Jack Skellington costume; a giant head made from paper mache, with black gauze in the eye sockets so he could look through them. They looked great. Why yes, she got some extra candy for her efforts.

I read this out loud to jenn because it tickled me so much.

In a totally unsuprising turn of events, I'm a vampire. My normal wardrobe lends itself to that. I have on a black slick shirt that has French cuffs, a black pencil skirt, knee-high boots, and a cape trimmed in feathers and I put on white face make up and have this lip stain stuff that I smeared on my lips and chin to make it look like I just wiped blood off my face.

I'm looking forward to seeing you at the club. I'll be dressed in my belly dancing Grim Reaper outfit. I'm still figuring out what to do about my face though - the black "faceless" hood I wore for the Norwescon Masquerade is not workable for a bar...

Those sound amazing! I was lazy on Friday, and put a black graduation gown and my blue-and-gray Ravenclaw scarf on over my regular clothes -- but I was traveling over the weekend, and saved my elaborate clothes for the Sisters of Mercy on Saturday. Not a costume, just suitable club clothes, but tulle and dreadfalls do take up packing space.
