Yanked from [personal profile] pegkerr

([personal profile] cupcake_goth May. 2nd, 2007 01:50 pm)
Tho' I will admit I'd been thinking of doing something like this for a while now. But seeing Peg's post actually motivated me to do it.

Lurkers out there, yo, today's your day. Whether you're a LJ-lurker or from someplace outside reading this journal, you are the reason this journal isn't locked by default. So, come out and say 'hi' or something. Tell me what you're doing here, how you feel, who you are, whatever. Today's the day to seize and be un-shy for once.

AND tell if you are a regular reader of this journal or just like to drop in when I'm being snarky or whatever. You can tell me what you like and what you don't like about it. It's okay; I'd like to know, and I have pretty thick skin. Well, usually.

Or just drop in to say hi... because it would be nice to know if there's more than the same 8 or 10 people that gets good use out of this journal, you know what I mean?

So, yeah. Speak up. Who are all you people?

(Disclaimer: I may not almost certainly won't have the time to answer every comment posted, and I do indeed, as always, reserve the right to delete any comments that I think are out of line. But still, I'm curious about who really does read my burblings.)

Yours is one of the LJs I read like religion...as weird as that may sound ;P

I read your LJ allll the time. :-) When I'm pressed for time, I skim, but I do that with everyone. I always like your work stories (especially when things are going great for you), your fashion stories, and your posts that remind me of new GCC entries.

You're on my dailyread list, missy. And yes, I do have a dailyread list. All my dear friends are onnit.

I won't be posting this meme in my journal

Because my journal *is* locked.

Very deliberately.

But I do enjoy reading yours every time you post. I take vicarious pleasure out of the drama you witness and report - but do not take part in.

:)

Of course I read you - where else would I keep up to date on the latest news in goth cosmetic lines?

Long time reader, (not) first time writer. Love the critiques of fashion and fiction. :)

Hi! When are we getting together for the corset thing?

I'm a long time lj-user, though this particular account is only a scant year old. Started reading your LJ once it was pointed out to me by a friend. I love reading your Lady of Manners website, couldn't resist the extra-goodness of occasional lj updates. :)

(I'm aforementioned friend. Meg, this is Miss Manners. Miss Manners, this is Meg!)

From: [identity profile] smu.livejournal.com

I found you through your delightful Miss Manners goth page, as well as [livejournal.com profile] gothroyalty. I've lurked a bit for a while, but it's lovely to say "hi".

Well, I was a fan of your articles for quite awhile, and I started following your journal soon afterwards. You really brighten up my friend's page.

I still read your posts, all of 'em, though I skip shallow fashion details if I'm rushed.

Because I may have left Seattle, but I like to keep up with what's happening in my friends' lives.

Snarky, Perky -- now that I've stumbled upon you again, I enjoy reading you in whatever mood you're in!

You have a lovely style and I enjoy reading your thoughts thoroughly.

You Know, that guy

Who used to look like this about ten years ago. You and [profile] stroppy_baggage have always been among my favorite people, even after we all stopped working in the same place. Our infrequent meetings in and around Ballard and the Bay were/are always pleasant, and I enjoy the occasional en passant with one or both of you at the few regional shows I attand for myself.

Basically, I like reading what interesting people find interesting. Blogs also allow me to "interact" with people who otherwise terrify me with their self assuredness and ineffable cool.

I'm the loudest introvert in the world, you see.

*You* should be trying to stay on my good side, sarky-pants.

::tries to look menacing, but probably fails::

So! Did I tell you about the spiffy new makeup I found? Or how I'm considering buying some Barbie-pink blush to use as eyeshadow? ;-)

Mostly lurking--

And I do read every post. I've been a fan of yours since the previous incarnation of Gothic Charm School, and when I found you had a journal I went all gushy fangirl and added you. Now I comment about as much as I post, but know you have a faithful Constant Reader.

From: [identity profile] theda-bara.livejournal.com

I found you through Gothroyalty, and was then delighted to find out that you were the author of Gothic Charm School. I enjoy what you write about, especially when you give your "shallow fashion details".
And it is wonderful to have someone do make-up reviews on almost all of the brands that I use as well.
=D

i always read your entries. don't always comment but I always read them. i like to live vicariously through your shallow fashion details.

Hi! I just this minute found your LJ, and I luff GCS. And you like MCR! Hee, everyone is always so snobby about them, so it's kinda neat that you do, even if they aren't my personal thing. No, mine's even worse. Hi there, P!ATD. And, er, the occasional bit of Fall Out Boy. It's the mimes.... don't tell anyone, lol.

From: [identity profile] master-cobweb.livejournal.com

Hi - I just wandered over because I saw your reply to [livejournal.com profile] jola's post about the pirate hat and thought you had excellent taste in hats as well as a beautiful icon. Shall we become friends? I live in the UK and know a bit too much about museums (though I'm originally from Seattle), and I love the three 'b's: BPAL, books, and... *rapidly tries to think of a third* Burton, Tim. I cannot offer you cupcakes. Would you accept a scone instead? :)

Top of the evening to you!

I found you (or rather, your column) more than ten years ago and enjoyed reading it when I could (that is to say irregularly). I was saddened when it vanished and occasionally tried to find it again, to no avail (I was *far* less computer-savvy then than I am now). Then, just last year, a very good friend of mine quoted the key phrase that had stuck in my mind this whole time: "Friends don't let friends dress like The Crow." Imagine my joy that he had stumbled upon Gothic Charm School! Needless to say, I now have it bookmarked.

Just tonight, this self-same friend emailed me because he had stumbled across your LiveJournal. How wonderfully fortuitous! And so I took the liberty of adding you to my friends list and thought I'd reply to this post, as it seemed a perfect opportunity to say Greetings.

As my friend likes to say, "Good evening, and good odding as well."
