We're going to a Halloween party on Saturday. My planned costume has involved deciding which Gothic Heroine nightgown and robe to sacrifice, then coating/splattering them liberally with fabric paint in various shades of blood.
BUT. I've been on a very low dose of Erythromycin 3x/daily for a few weeks now, because I have very slow digestive motility, and my GI said that this usage of Erythromycin stimulates the hormone that controls digestion motility. I'm getting some histamine reactions. Everything is mildly swollen and itchy. And because I've had something similar (but much worse!) happen long ago when I was on an aggressive daily antibiotics course (oh hai Lyme disease, ugh), I'm not willing to fuck around with this.
What does this have to do with my planned Gothic Heroine at the Vampire Mansion costume? Fabric paint + ruffled lace neckline(s) = stiff and scratchy. Wearing it is probably not a good idea. Woe. Woe to the goth. I'm going to try it on tonight to see, but I'm not holding out a lot of hope.
However, I have pretty much everything I need to do a version of Beetlejuice, so at least I have a backup.
