Good: The 7am AND 8am meetings were canceled this morning!
Even better: The 7am meeting tomorrow morning has been canceled!
Oh well: I still have a 7am meeting on Monday.

Holiday shopping with Dad was good. However, it did involve this scene:

Sales lady at department store, ringing up our purchases: "Your outfit is lovely! Oh, I know what this style is called, it's on the tip of my tongue ..."

Me, wearing a black wool frock coat, black ruffled blouse, black full skirts, oxblood lipstick, blackened maroon smokey eye makeup, and freshly-dyed burgundy hair: "It's mostly gothic. Gothic Victorian."

Sales lady: "Noooo. It's ... something punk?"

Me, resignedly: "Steampunk."

Dad, standing at the counter, tries not to crack up.

DEAR STEAMPUNK, WE VICTORIAN GOTHS WOULD LIKE OUR CLOTHES BACK. THANKS. ::sighs, shakes be-ringed tiny fists at the uncaring sky::

Current makeup fondness: smokey, smudgy eye shadow. And NO liquid liner, which still feels a little shocking to me.

( From Tuesday, when I was heading off to a hair dye appointment )

The Infamous BlueJay gave me that blackened burgundy pigment, which she found ... somewhere on the internet. I'd worry about running out, but the jar she gave me is HUGE.
