My phone call w/ the HR lady from a Very Cool Company went splendidly. It turns out that the VCC does not have any openings that would suit me right now, but she wanted to see how I felt about the idea of working for the VCC, and would I be interested in her sending my resume to the parent office in California, or would I rather wait until the office up here had a job opening I would be suited for? (I said I'd rather wait for something local, as I don't really want to relocate.) But the nice HR lady was wonderful to talk to, and the fact that the VCC contacted me about possible work AND seemed quite excited by my resume and skills is a huge, HUGE ego boost.

Other good things about the day:

- OMG Bauhaus! Tonight!

- I am wearing a non-stretchy batwing-point hem jacket (13 shiny black buttons down the front, Mandarin collar) that the fabulously talented [livejournal.com profile] bluejay23 made for me a couple years ago. She made it a few inches too small (at my request), because I had this vague hope that I was losing weight and that it would fit me Real Soon Now. I haven't been able to wear it w/o the aid of a corset for as long as I've owned it, and therefore haven't worn it very often.

It is currently the best-fitting jacket I own. It fits perfectly, without a corset.

Yes, today is going to be a good day. I hope today is a good day for all of you, because each and every one of you deserve a Really Good Day.
