Spent a day and a half cleaning the house for the Ungreatful Day party. This included cleaning off & re-arranging the bookshelves in the living room. Don't ask.

For reasons that are a complete mystery to me, but I'm very thankful for, a good friend turned up on our doorstep Wed. night, and started cleaning the kitchen. "I'd rather clean someone else's house than work on my sewing!" she announced. At this point, I was somewhat punchy (extended bouts of house cleaning do that), so I just followed her around offering her sugary treats.

The party itself was a big hit. #1 Minion (and her lackey) proved again how wonderful and helpful they both are, and helped shore up my somewhat crumbling sanity. Many, many people brought me sparklers - as soon as it got *close* to evening, a bunch of us ran amuck with them. Giant, 2-feet long sparklers! Wheeeeeeee!

We have 4 unopened bottles of Vanilla Stoli as part of the party left-overs. The mind boggles.

The following day, 2 other friends turned up to help with post-party clean up. We have VERY GOOD friends, I can't stress this enough.

A Person From My Past (waves), who was at the party, came over on the following day. We hung out, gossiped, and hatched several schemes. This is all good. Everyone should be very, very afraid if she and I team up with #1 Minion - between the three of us, we would have the market cornered on spooky crafts & parties.

Today involved a trip to 3rd Place Books (ooooh, 40% sale!), food at Honey Bear Bakery, and running into JoAnn's Fabrics to discover that they DIDN'T have their Halloween stuff out yet - that the Redmond store (which does, according to #1 Minion) put out their goodies early. Hmmmph. Dammit, I need Halloween fabric *now*. Well, not *now* actually, since I'm about to go make roasted veggies for dinner, and then get ready to go out dancing w/ BigBrotherHierophant and some friends. But I need Halloween fabric *soon*. :)
