I fit back into my Dark Garden corset.

The one that hasn't fit me for 3 years.

Mind you, the laces are at the fullest extension possible, and I *don't* think I could have them tightened right now, but hey! It fits me again!

And now, I go price more things for a rummage sale tomorrow. Which, if I make enough money, will pay for *another* corset. Because a girl can never have too many corsets.

We look around, obviously confused. The counter staff take pity on the perplexed tourists and point around a corner while saying "upstairs".

Up another narrow flight of stairs we go, ending up in a store no bigger than my living room; completely lined in ruched red velvet, and filled with the most exquisite Gothic Lolita clothes I've seen. The little *tiny* girl working there (in head-to-toe black velvet & lace) stares at us with wide eyes as we start pawing through the racks.

Velvet! Taffeta! Lace! All beautifully made and well-constructed! Ruffly skirts with matching fitted jackets!

...

Nothing that will go past our upper arms.

Dammit, dammit, dammit.

I end up buying 2 ruffly lace headbands, and a black velvet & lace capelet. None of these items, you will note, need to fit snugly across the bust, waist, or hips.

After the verrrrrrry nervous girl rings up my purchases, I pull out the camera and pantomime at her. She nods her head "yes", with "humor the crazy tourist" written across her face.

Afterwards, we teeter back down the stairs and onto the street.
