Things are okay, it's just that house hunting is going sloooooowww, and I'm sadly aware that there's a good chance we'll be in our current house for another winter. Which, ugh, for multiple reasons. 

I'm still sad about the house we almost got, and probably will be until we find the house that is Meant For Us. It would be bitterly funny if we are still house hunting when that house goes back on the market after remodel. I don't know for sure that the buyer is intending to flip that house, but considering they were a building company that made a cash offer ...

My brain has decided that my new stress dream is finding out that a former friend finally followed through on his decades-long threat of suicide, and I was the person who had to deal with sorting and dealing with his belongings. It's not the worst recurring stress dream I could be having, but it's still Not Great.

Not a good dream at all, no. It does look like the housing market is improving both in that there are more houses available (which there really haven't been) and the prices are coming down (not QUICKLY dropping, but an overall trend). Hopefully this will mean that you will be able to find The Right House soon. Dor would like to buy a house (though probably not for about 6 or 7 months as she just signed a new lease that goes to next september), so we have been in a state of watching for houses and looking at things in the Kenmore area with a sort of casual bent; I have been wanting to do yard and estate sales (which involves driving around) and that has put us on streets that are not part of our usual routines and there have been LOTS of for sale signs suddenly cropping up like blackberry vines, so we have detoured to look at them from the outside.

Are you guys still looking at moving into the more southern parts of the region, or has Jeff sold you on across the water prices, or just *anywhere* that is the right house of the right price? I am happy to help keep an eye out for things that suit your list while I am looking for things that suit Dor, and things that suit Irissa. (you can text me what your list is, and I will send you things I run across when I do).

About that dream - I am wondering if I should go see what I can see on his facebook or something as he has also shown up in a couple of my dreams recently (nothing of the catastrophy level of your nightmares, to be clear, he's just there and in his depressive state he gets sometimes). Not in any interactive way, mind you, just looking. I dunno. I haven't looked in on him since shortly after his flounce.
