Yesterday the Stroppy One discovered some ants on the buffet we keep the silverware in, and then discovered a few coming up the wall behind it. So today involves clearing everything off the top of the buffet and dusting/cleaning.

The top of the buffet is my altar. Which means a deep clean and dusting of everything, and then I'll reset it. This is good, and needed doing for a while, but it's also a lot of work.
What I've moved and cleaned so far.

Something I should have expected but didn't: See that green bag at the back? That holds the box with Mom's ashes. I knew it was there! But moving it and removing the dried flowers that I'd added to the bag hit harder than I expected, and involved some crying.

First, that is a very busy altar, it would be easy to get lost in (this is not a bad thing). Second, Bowie FTW. Third, I collect those bills too. Fourth, my mother has that teacup, and the saucer too, if you have any information on how to use it I'd be obliged.

Sympathy.

Walking toward the dead end of the street I grew up on without Dad involved some crying, too. Consider yourself hugged.

Hugs and sympathies. Also - beautiful, loving clutter.

*hugs*

I haven't redressed, cleaned, or even touched my altar in...far too long. I was going to do it for Ostara, and well maybe Beltaine. I'm hoping the return of the daylight will help make a difference.
