Browsing Etsy = Dangerous

Dear Sandy Claws,

Remember how I said I wanted mini hats for Christmas? I would especially like this pink and black top hat. (clicky-link!) Oooh, or this pink velvet tricorn. (clicky-link!) You know, just in case the Elf Labor Union negotiated for not doing millinery this season or something.

With lots of love,

Cupcake Goth

Clicky-links of coveting

Not that I'm going to purchase any of these, but goodness, they're pretty. I blame [livejournal.com profile] charmingmonstrs for linking to them.

The main EGL brand I covet stuff from is the Alice and the Pirates line from Baby The Stars Shine Bright. (Yes, I have a huge weakness for pirate lolita, which probably can be traced directly back to my crush on Adam Ant.) Which is why mini tricorn hats with large bows (clicky-link!) and Victorian pirate button boots (another clicky-link!) make me go "Oooooh, wanty!"

(I do SO need more mini tricorns and top hats. I DO. Do not argue with me.)

Dear Sandy Claws, I have been very very good this year. Please bring me lots of cute hats. Which, you must admit, are a much more reasonable request than my annual pleas for an arc welder.

Love, Cupcake Goth.

A tiny update, and a question for the sewing people I know

Tiny Update: This weekend involved one of my rare introvert/antisocial moods, where I just could not face the idea of being around large social groups. Which means I not only missed out on going dancing, but I also missed out on other fun social things. This makes me a bit sad, but I know I would not have been good company AT ALL. (Or I would have faked it really well, and then been even crankier later in the coming week.) So post-Thanksgiving was spent staying home and sewing, while [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage and [livejournal.com profile] flyingtapes played Little Big Planet. I, erm, am almost done sewing the third knee-length and flouncy skirt of the weekend.

Speaking of sewing, hey, fellow sewing-types! If I were to ask Sandy Claws for a pair of good fabric shears for Christmas, what brand should I ask for? Keep in mind that I am not a pro, and that I don't need the absolute top-of-the-line, goodness-gracious-expensive sort of shears, just ones that will cut through fabric easily and smoothly.
