Stuff and things, and shameless self-promotion
Firstly, I won't be at Club V tomorrow night. My usual club companion is away on vacation, and I really should use the extra time for writing. Sorry,
djeternaldarkne!
Secondly, the weather. Oh, the glorious weather. I'm wearing tights and boots! I brought my velvet capelet with me, in case the bus ride home is chilly! I'm going to make soup for dinner! It's supposed to stay like this for almost a week!
(Yes, all those exclamation points were absolutely necessary. Autumn is my favorite season, and I have been LONGING for it to properly arrive.)
Thirdly, the shameless self-promotion part. I'm in the Oct/Nov issue of BUST magazine. Y'know how they always have a page featuring someone and their personal style? I'm that person for this issue.
::runs around flailing excitedly::
If you go to the BUST site, there's a feature that lets you preview the issue.
http://www.bust.com/Magazine/On-Newsstands-Now.html - I'm on page 31. Now I just need to get my mitts on an actual copy of the magazine ...

Will you autograph my copy? SERIOUSLY. I have a copy of Mode autographed by Camryn Manneheim. I have books by my friends/fellow poets/writers I've met, all autographed, and CDs from local musicians, also autographed (whenever possible).
:) And THAT ROCKS!!!! I love the Style page, I always read it, and like most of the people's styles (for them).
And I do love this weather, too! I love autumn, it is my favorite season. I love the contrasts of the very warm days that have that tinge of gold lighting, and that hint of the cold and the damp. The foggy nights in the valley, where the low-lying fog rolls across the river valley, while a full moon glows high in the otherwise clear sky, and lights up the fog brilliantly. I love the first days of rain, when it feels so good to have those clothes on that you've missed for the sunny summer season, feels good to curl up and slow down with a cup of tea and a good book while listening to the rain patter (or pour!) on the roof, gurgling in the gutters, the cats purring or running around chasing toys, taking breaks to come for pettin's. Where you're grateful for the cooler weather as a break from all the activity when it's warm, when it's OK to just meditate... to plan, and to tally the year's good to store up for the bad days that do happen on occasion...
(Now you've made me wax all lyrical... :) )

Will be haunting the bookstores for BUST.

As to acquiring a copy, I know I've seen it at Bulldog News.

I am so excited for Autumn too! We usually make ourselves wait until the official first day of Autumn to make pumpkin pie, but we made one last night cause the weather got us all excited and we just couldn't wait. :D Soup sounds very appetizing too!

PS. I saw you at Club V last week, we did that kind of "don't I know you?" thing in the bathroom (at least that's how I interpreted it-although if it wasn't that way on your end, you are excused for not knowing me as our connection consists merely of LJ and an occasional pass-by in Ballard.)

I'll have you know your weather reports have been making me very, very jealous. Why oh why am I still stranded in Kentucky!?!
