Speaking of photos, I had a thought this morning: In the next couple of days I'll be putting on Flickr the photos that we took, and it occurred to me that it might be fun/useful/worthwhile to have a GCS Tour Flickr group, so that people from all the stops who have Flickr accounts could add their own shots to it and there'd be a chance to get them all in one place. (This is assuming this, or something like it, doesn't already exist and I just don't know about it.)

Actually, now that I've looked into this, it seems to fall into a gray area about what constitutes "commercial" use, and I don't want to lose my account over a gray area. :) I've submitted a support query to see if I can get this clarified, so no group just yet.

Your edit (stage blood, cartoonishly) reminded me of this: when you said at the book launch how your appearance helps set you apart at work, you're not kidding!

Recently I was at a table gabbing with our HR folks, and telling them how much publicity is NOT JUST BUILT IN to one's book contract. I gave you as an example of someone who was preparing promotional feats of derring-do -- and they were all AMAZED that I knew ye! They wanted to know all about you, and I explained how you were looking for another position... and don't'cha know, they started networking on your behalf? Holla to the goth-friendly tech world. Three of the four had seen your interview on Channel 9, and all of them had been impressed -- and more importantly, they remembered you.

You're going to go far, lady... and I'm very impressed. Good work, and I'll try to get the book out of the Kid's hands long enough to write a good review. :-)

That one self-portrait you took awhile back? The one where you are standing in the alcove? Restroom sinks in the foreground? I set about making an LJ Icon out of that. -I suddenly recollect thinking about it anyway.

Need to go back and try that out I think.
