Dithering

So I thought I had decided on what I was wearing to the Bats Day Swinging Wake masquerade, but it turns out masks/costumes are compulsory. I don't like wearing masks with my glasses (ugh!), and contact lenses are no longer possible for me. So, my options

- I could pull together the Victorianish genderswapped Beetlejuice outfit again, but I don't know if I want to deal with the makeup and the elaborate hair. Tho' it is a pretty awesome outfit.

- I could wear the soon-to-arrive black sequined full skirt, the Suspiria Gown from Kambriel (probably worn backwards, with the hood transformed/bound up into a jabot, and with a waist cincher), Dramatic Makeup, and a top hat with a face-covering veil, similar to this one:

I dunno. And I have three weeks to make up my mind.

I think you should do the victorian bat costume you did this year for halloween

Oh good lord, no. Yes, it's super-cute and comfy! But it's fleece. And faux fur. In SoCal? At the end of May? I'd die of heat stroke, no matter what the air conditioning of the event hotel was. :)

then the beetlejuice outfit. It's fairly simple, but really obviously a costume too. The other outfit, while lovely, sounds not too far off of your every day wear, really. :)

Wearing a face paint mask or temp tattoo mask you can still wear glasses. The frames can be part of the design.

The temp tattoo ones require a little practice so buying back ups is recommended.

BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE!!!

You could be minimal with the makeup, and crimp your hair rather than teasing it up, for less preparation stress.

(If there's something you want to wear with a mask, maybe use a cut-out template and airbrush a "mask" around your eyes, and then wear your glasses?)

Add my vote for the genderswapped Beetlejuice. :)

Having had to start wearing glasses recently (for me), I'd say go with the veil option, on an outfit that's brain-meltingly differently from your known preferences. I'd say, like, neon... Or Hawaiian print...
