This is an absolutely fantastic dress. I was very excited to get a stripey summer dress; remember how I had been looking for one? Aaaaand then it arrived in the mail, I tried it on, and discovered that this style of dress just wouldn’t work on my short-waisted figure. (Not to mention that I knew it was going to be a few inches too big when I ordered it, but optimistically thought that I would have no problems tailoring it. Now that I’ve seen the dress, I know any attempts on my part to alter it would result in frustration and tears, and the dress does not deserve to be put through that by me.)

Eh, I'm pretty short-waisted, and the waist measurement might be a bit, erm, close-fitted for me anyway. Better it go to someone it would definitely fit. :)

(I actually bought the halter dress from Newport News and am going to see what I can make of it. If I can't sort it into a workable dress, I'll just cut the skirt off. It was on sale.)
