Back from watching Twilight

1 coffin flask of rose liqueur = not enough alcohol.

I will admit, the movie was dippy fun. I thought I was going to sprain my eyeballs from rolling them so hard, but it was still fun. Robert Pattison is a handsome young man, even if the makeup artist for the movie couldn't be bothered to blend his white foundation past his jaw line.

However, the blink-and-you'll-miss-it dream sequence of him as a REAL vampire? That was well done. Pity the whole movie couldn't have been like that, but then it wouldn't be Twilight, would it? ... I feel like I need to go watch The Lost Boys or Near Dark or 30 Days of Night to cleanse my brain or something.

And now, because it needs to be linked to again: Cleolinda's Twilight in 15 minutes..

Dude, *all* the vampires in this movie were like that! WTF? Do they go to a neck-tanning clinic?

It was very distracting and annoying. I wanted to lunge after them with a compact and a foundation brush.

Neck-tanning clinic!!!

Bwhaahahahaha!

You are a braver woman than I. I'm stilll wanting to scrub my brain clean from reading the series. If they had someone like Wes Bentley playing Edward, I *might* have thought about going to see it. My sisters are avid fans. I absolutely can't like it (the series). personally, I wanted her to choose Jacob :p

Yeeeah, that seems to be a common problem these days. It was pretty much the same thing with the True Blood series: pale, pale faces and ruddy necks. *sigh* I mean, was their budget so small that they could only afford makeup for their faces? At least the vampires in Being Human* don't suffer from this problem.

*An awesome, awesome show about a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost which is currently airing in the UK. If it ever hits American TV or is released on DVD in R1, I highly recommend it for fans of the supernatural genre. It's funny and smart, and quite dark and intense at times.

I've been watching Being Human ::cough-online-cough:: and it really is brilliant. Exactly like you described, and they've done such a good job with it.

I, too, have been watching it via the, er, magic of the internet. :D I've been on pins and needles waiting for the finale to air on Sunday. EEEEE! And have you heard? BBC Three has recommissioned it for a second series. They've put in an order for eight episodes!

I checked it out this weekend.
Thank you for mentioning it. It's been a long time since I have seen an intelligent show based on the supernatural.

You're very welcome. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. :D

There is so much good online Twilight parody, but mostly for the books....

Twilight is The Karate Kid of vampire movies.

We were looking at some production photos in a magazine while waiting at the doctor's office, and the line was blatantly obvious. WTH, Hollywood.

And in that vein (har)...

Ahem. (http://aromaleigh.wordpress.com/2009/02/27/new-twilight-supernatural-face-and-body-powder-makeup/)

Thank you. A John Ringo reference is always apropos. ;)

(She does say in a comment that she doesn't expect it to be a very "mainstream" item and it's meant in fun. But even so.)

I just finished the series last weekend, and am still shaking my head. I'll probably end up seeing the movie at some point, but my head may shake off my neck while I'm watching it.
