The passage of time, it freaks me out
See that small baby I am holding in the icon I used on this post? That is Princess Tickybox, my niece-by-proxy. (She has been known to gloat to other kids that she has a Scary Godmother and they don't.)
This is Princess Tickybox today:

OH MY GOD, SHE IS IN KINDERGARTEN. MY WEE TICKYBOX GIRL, GROWING UP.
---
In other news, I am working from home today, as Monday night's sleep was defective, and while last night's sleep was not, I cannot wake up. Working remotely while in jammies it is!

I know the feeling about how fast they grow up though. As soon as we got down to CA after the Vampire Ball earlier this year, my "little" niece immediately put on *my* Eleanor Jacket ~ and it just fit. I'll have to post a photo sometime (of course I got ones of her in the jacket!)... She actually looks a little like a slightly older version of Princess Tickybox.

(I notice she coloured in the drawing to be pink with stripes ~ nope, no influence there at all...)

Even without a TARDIS.

The passage of time is freaking me out as well. A girl I use to babysit and change her diapers . . . is now entering grade 8! Aaaa! She is a teen! (very smart and well behaved to) I feel you pain.

my actual niece turns *15* at the end of this month (it does not seem like so long ago that I was hanging on the phone with her mother while she was in labor). And my own Fairy GothDaughter turns *16* in November (when she will be able to get her driver's license!).
*faints*

I am appreciative to see some color outside the lines in that photo, though. (My MiL has been caught ordering our nephew to stay within the lines. I was glad I heard this second-hand.)
