I <3 the postal service.

Well, at least I do *today*.

Today's mail brought me:

- Some things I had ordered from Retroscope Fashions. The sleeveless blouse = perfect, as I knew it would be; the black shrug = probably going straight onto the sale pile.

- The "Fall Sneak Peek!" Victorian Trading Co. catalog, which has a bunch of ... pointy-toed witchy shoes and tall black top hats decorated with feathers and veiling. All of which look verrrrrry familiar to me, even if the price for the hats is ridiculously high. (Seriously. If any of you want a decorated top hat, TALK TO ME before you think about plunking down $109 + shipping, okay?)

- Shoes! The wonderful [livejournal.com profile] ms_tate found a pair of vintage Fluevog creepers in the back of her closet, and sent them to me! They're charming, and I am delighted to give them a good home. Thank you so much!

Other things that amuse me:

- The brand-new issue of Rue Morgue, on their "Needful Things" page (which is their version of "Oooh, shiny thing!"), has featured the Skelly Docs. Which makes me giggle AND makes me long for a return to weather that allows for the wearing of boots.

I saw those Skelly Docs at the mall here in Portland (well, Clackamas) last week and spent several minutes trying to keep my drool off of the window. My oldest (just now 15!) wants a pair, too. They've gone on my list of must-haves!

It was fun to run into you today. I couldn't help thinking when I saw the parasol that it was you. The rest of your outfit cemented it. I don't usually get random encounters on the Microsoft campus. Happy random encounters are fun. I hope you are doing well.

I got something awesome in the mail yesterday - ear plugs! From - I kid you not - The Ear Plug Superstore. (www.earplugstore.com)

However, I was out of ear plugs, I go through them like candy when I go to shows, and they had those industrial 3M ones that Microsoft gives out for firedrills - but corded with neon orange string! Favorite ear plugs ever, and I won't lose them when I'm out to go see Random Bad Metal Band X out in Georgetown.

Oooh, thank you for the link to the Ear Plug Superstore! I have a pair of these (http://earplugstore.stores.yahoo.net/bablnasopl.html) that I keep in my club-going purse, but I really should get a back-up pair!

You're welcome! I may just have to try those!

I ordered a pair of these: http://earplugstore.stores.yahoo.net/herose.html and 10 pair of these (these are the cheap ones that I don't get care if they get trashed/give out to friends): http://earplugstore.stores.yahoo.net/3m1110-corded.html

What size and what shrug did you get? Sale pile? *meerkat moment*
