Ridiculous fashion cravings, part I Used To Own The Exact Thing I Now Want Again

The witchy spooky dress made by Eternal Love.

I have one in black (THANK GOODNESS), but I want the burgundy version. Which, as my title says, I used to OWN, dammit. And foolishly sold at a yard sale over a decade ago.

That dress. In burgundy. I wouldn't say no to one in white, either.

Sooooo, I've got the eBay search saved, but in the meantime, if folks could keep an eye out at their local thrift stores and spooky shops, that would be great. I need a size XL.

Thank you!

I had one in black and gave it to a gal who needed it for a hand fasting. Guess it wouldn't fit now anyway. Will keep an eye out for one.

Black or violet would be fine with me, but I guess you're not selling any time soon.

Oh dear, I had one too. In black. 1990s, I'm guessing. No idea what happened to it!

Wow, the sight of this dress takes me BACK to the Carpe Noctem days!! I never had this particular Eternal Love dress, but I owned a few bell-sleeved wonders in the nineties. I actually sold or gave away every single one, as I had fewer and fewer places to wear them; when I was a book mender I couldn't wear flouncy sleeves to work. This post makes me wonder if I will come to regret how many outfits I let go over the last two decades.

These do turn up from time to time in thrift and consignment shops, so I'll keep my eye out!

At some point in the future, I need to pick your brain about book mending. Some of my vintage gothic romance pulp paperbacks have split down the spine, and I have no idea if they're fixable.

I would be happy to help! Most are fixable, although unfortunately it's often the case that the cheaper the original materials, the harder they are to repair--and to my mind, it's better to retain the "pulp-y" look & feel of an old paperback than to upgrade the whole thing with a new cover. I bet the bindings can be restored though. Happy to share book-medic info!
