Why yes, I will take that as an omen, thankyouverymuch

Over the past month, I have found 5 different 4, 5, or 6 -leafed clovers in my yard. Now, some of you may say that all this means is that we have a mutant strain of clover growing in our neighborhood. But I'm going with the meaning that really good things are going to happen. Because that's a large number of lucky clover found in a short time, even for me.

(A bit of backstory: finding 4-leaf clovers is one of my strange superpowers. I have been out with friends, walking around, when I will stop dead, stare at the ground, and pick up a 4-leaf clover. No, I have no idea how I do it.)

i just thought it was lucky radiation

Sounds like a terrific portent of hopeful abundance. :-)

Wow! I knew about four-leafed clovers but I had no idea five and even six-leafed clovers even existed. Take care around them, though. They might be impostors. I found my very first (yay!) four-leafed clover last week and have been having even worse luck than usual.

I'm betting for a covert government nuclear facility in the neighborhood.

You're actually a leprechaun? :)

You know... those 6 leafed clovers are good for a number of charms, in Oz. Good thing you live in the Emerald City, isn't it?

I have one 8-leaf, but it didn't press well. This summer, I haven't had much time to be (as my friend Kae calls it) an aberration magnet. (oh--and we loved the book!)

That's a great superpower. :)

I love your icon!

Not only lucky, but Super Lucky!

I saw this ring (http://www.cosmopolitan.fr/,bague-barbe-noire-les-nereides,2090,1021986,6) today and thought of you.

Very. Cool.

Hmmm we seem to share this superpower.

Clover Superpower

[identity profile] islenskr.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, I have that superpower, too! People who know me are amazed and shocked at my ability.

I read somewhere that certain fertilizers cause mutations in clover to produce extra leaves. Manure is one of them, but it could be the extra nitrogen content, I'm not sure. Certainly, that is not intended to take the wind out of your lucky sails! No, no! Simply saying where they come from. It's still your superpower that finds them, and the finding is the lucky part, don't you think?

Clue

Your Current Location indicator brings to mind a murder location and weapon from the board game "Clue." In this case, instead of "in the conservatory with a lead pipe" the murder was perpetrated "in the library, with a bowl of blackberries."

Maybe all of the clovers have crushes on you and that somehow causes them to grow extra leaves.[/completelyrandomstatementthatmakesnosensebuticouldntresistsayingit]

It's fun. I've picked thirteen of the four leaf variety, and one of the five leaf variety.
They paved over my special spot where I found them. T_T

Didn't I tell you you're a mutagen? Parents exposed to you will have children born with pointy ears and fangs.

Send me one! I could use some luck right now.

I have that superpower, too - I used to find them while walking my parents' dogs. I think it's a pattern recognition thing, they just don't look quite right.

The most I ever found was 5-leafed, though - I bow to your superior clover-fu.

definitely a good omen

I once took a class on scottish plant folklore and the instructor spent a large chunk of the class on clovers. She too had the mojo for finding them and was convinced that anyone could learn to find them. But she also admitted that there were people who seemed to be better suited to it.

Her best advice was for people to actually look for three leafed clovers and then the unusual ones pop out. The best part of the class was that at the end I was standing near the door to the tent, looked down and low and behold there was a four leaf clover, I still have it pressed in a book.

This is my first posting. I found you through the spotlight. I can't wait to get a copy of your book.

I'm envious. I've never found one four leafed clover much 5, 6, 7 or 8 leafed. All I ever find are 3 leafed ones. :(

I work at a renaissance faire, I find maybe one or two 4-leafed every weekend. I just get a feeling, stop, look down, and within moments, I have one. I have no idea how it happens.

A couple seasons ago, I was let go from a booth up there, and while watching the parade, I found my first 5-leaf clover, and another beside it! I told somebody, and they said, "NONONO, get rid of it! It draws bad luck to you!" I didn't believe them and kept it. Besides, I'd already been let go. I found the clover AFTER I got let go! The following year, I was working in front of the shop where I'd found that 5-leaf clover. So there!

Maybe I should go back to that spot to see if there are any other strange clovers...

Why yes, I see fairies all the time too! They work at our faire! ;)

That's awesome!

I have yet to ever find a 4 leaf clover, let alone any 5 or 6 leaf ones!
