I'm another "eye shadow applied with a flat brush" gal. (A pointed lining brush will work as well, but I happen to prefer the control I get with a short angled flat brush.) Liquid stopped looking good on me a decade ago and I have always found pencils ridiculously aggravating; with this method, I can get as much coverage as I like and it's really easy, plus I can have any color of liner I want. If you do it wet or with a sealant, it will last really well. (Hell, I just cried for half an hour, and my applied-wet blackened-metallic-green liner stayed in place.) However, if you're an eye-rubber, it won't, so there's that to consider.
